New
York City is the fashion capital of the US.
With thousands of shopping outlets, it has become a major attraction for
visitors. From discount designer
clothes to exclusive one of a kind, you will find it here. Children’s, men’s
and women’s clothes of every type can be found here. Fashion design and clothing manufacturing still play a
significant role in NYC. There are
boutiques, malls, department stores, specialty shops, you name it, and New York
has it.
You
will also find the latest electronics and an incredible collection of jewelry
and art.
It
would not be possible to list every store here. What we have attempted is to
give you a wide-ranging selection as a sample of what New York City offers.
In addition there are several neighborhoods that have their own
uniqueness. We will start with NYC
neighborhoods.
SoHo,
and area bounded by Houston, Canal and Lafayette Streets and Sixth Avenue.
Thrives with clothing from designer flagships, antiques and crafts. There
are still a few art galleries and outlets left.
Lower
East Side-Orchard Street, where on Sunday one can find bargains. For shoes and
avant-grade fashions go to St.Mark’s Place. Try Grand Street for lighting, and
Delancey Street for linens and towels.
Herald
Square, 34th Street/7th Avenue and the surrounding area is
home to Macy’s and the fashion wholesale center.
The
Upper East Side-Madison and Lexington Avenues where you can shop for antiques,
designer clothes, shoes and classics in art.
World
famous Fifth Avenue, from 57th Street to 50th Street you
will find Tiffany’s, Harry Winston, Cartier, Saks Fifth Avenue and other
